Will I Choose God’s Purpose For Me?

MARY’S CHOICE

Luke 1:26-29 – In the sixth month, God dent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary: The angel said to Mary, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you!’ Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondering what kind of greeting this might be.

Luke 1:30-33 – Then the angel said, ‘Do not be afraid Mary! You have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you will give Him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will never end.’

Luke 1:34-37 – ‘How will this be,’ Maru asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So, the Holy One to be born will be called The Son Of God! Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she is in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible with God.

Luke 1:38 – Mary responded ‘I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever He wants. May everything you have said come true!’ And then the angel left.

WHY GOD’S PURPOSE FOR ME IS BEST

Mary’s Song: Luke 1:46-55

1. God made me for His purpose.

Luke 1:46-47 – Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”

Psalm 100:3 – Know that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to Him; we are His people.

2. Because no one cares for me more.

Luke 1:48 – For he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.

3. It’s the key to His blessing.

Luke 1:48b-50 – From now on, every generation will call me blessed! For He, the Mighty One, is holy, and He has done great things for me. And God will show His mercy to every generation who will worship and serve Him.

4. Because God honors humility.

Luke 1:51-53 – He has displayed His power with many nighty deeds but has scattered the people who are proud and think they are the great ones. He has brought down mighty rulers from their thrones but has raised up the humble! He has filled the hungry with good things but sent the rich away poor.

5. Because God keeps His promises.

Luke 1:54-55 – He has kept the promise He made to our ancestors and has come to the help of His servant Israel. He has remembered to show mercy to Abraham and to all his descendants forever.
