FAN OR FOLLOWER?
THE COMFORTABLE CROSS
LUKE 9:23
If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself take up the cross daily and follow me.
1. What Jesus did for the cross.
I Cor. 1:18 – The message of the cross is foolishness to these who are perishing, but to those who are being saved, it is the power of God.
Verse 22: – Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.
2. God can do for you!_
I Cor. 1:18 – God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise.
II Cor. 12:9 – I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power can rest on me.
