SERIES: CREATING A HEALTHY CHURCH

HEALTH STARTS WITH COMMITMENT

II Chronicles 16:9 – The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.

FIVE COMMITMENTS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

  1. I commit my life to Christ.

Rom. 10:9 – If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

  1. I commit to being a part of the Church family.

I Peter 1:3 – God has given us the privilege of being born again so that we are now members of God’s own family.

Romans 12:10 – Be devoted to one another.

  1. I commit to being a model of the life of Christ.

Hebrews 6:1 – Let us go on and become mature in our understanding, as strong Christians ought to be.

Pr. 23:12 – Commit yourself to instruction; attune your ears to hear words of knowledge.

I Timothy 3:9 – They must be committed to the revealed truths of the Christian faith and must live with a clear conscience.

  1. I commit to being a Minister of His Grace.

I Peter 4:10 – God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other; passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.

Matt. 20:28 – Your attitude must be like My own, for I, the Messiah, did not come to be served, but to serve.

  1. I commit to being a messenger of His love.

II Cor. 5:19-20 – For God was in Christ, restoring the world to Himself.  This is the wonderful message He has given to us to tell others.  We are Christ’s ambassadors.  God is using us to speak to others.

II Peter 3:15 – Remember why He is within.  He is giving us time to get His message of salvation out to others.

JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF COMMITMENT

Romans 8:3 – We aren’t saved by knowing the commandments of God because we can’t and don’t keep them.  But God put into effect a different plan to save us.  He sent His own Son in a human body like ours and destroyed sin’s control over us by giving Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

Titus 2:14 – He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing what is right.

Romans 12:1 – When you think of what He’s done for you, is this too much to ask?

Psalm 37:5 – Commit everything you do to the Lord.  Trust Him to help you do it, and He will.
