Why Is Patience So Vital In Relationships?

2. Because our differences create misunderstandings.

I Cor. 2:11 – No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like, except that person himself.

I Th. 5:14 – Be patient with everyone.

How To Be More Patient With People

1. Remember how patient God is with me.

I Tim. 1:16 – I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst sinner, Christ might display his unlimited patience.

Rom. 15:7 – Accept each other just as Christ has accepted you.

2. Learn by listening.

Pr. 19:11 – A man’s wisdom gives him patience.

Pr. 14:29 – A patient man has great understanding.

Pr. 18:13 – Listen before you answer. If you don’t, you are being stupid and insulting.

3. Make allowances for each other.

Eph. 4:2 – Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults, because of your love.

4. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Matt. 7:12 – Always treat others as you’d like them to treat you.

Ph. 2:4-5 – None of you should think only of his own affairs, but consider others’ interests also. Let your attitude toward life be that of Christ Jesus.

5. Learn to depend on God.

Psalm 37:7 – Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
