John 13:34 – (Jesus) As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

1. Accept their uniqueness.

Romans 15:7 – Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you.

I Cor. 13:5 – Love doesn’t demand its own way.

2. Trust them with responsibility.

Proverbs 11:13 – You can put confidence in someone who is trustworthy.

John 20:21 – (Jesus) As the Father has sent Me, so I am sending you.

3. Expect the best.

I Cor. 13:7 – If you love someone, you will always believe in him, and always expect the best of him.

4. Affirm their value.

I Cor. 13:4 – Love looks for a way of being constructive.

I Thess. 5:11 – Encourage one another and build each other up.

5. Correct without condemning.

Ephesians 4:15 – Speak the truth in love.

Ephesians 6:4 – (Parents) don’t keep on scolding and nagging your children making them angry and resentful. Rather bring them up with loving discipline.

Ephesians 4:29 – Don’t use harmful words, use only helpful words, the kind that build up.

6. Never give up on them.

I Corinthians 13:7 – Love knows no limits to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope, it can out last anything.
